THE STRUCTURE OF
INTERNET OF THINGS
The Internet of Things (IoT) can be thought of as a massive network made up of networks of objects and computers linked by a variety of intermediary technologies, with various technologies such as RFIDs and wireless connections serving as enablers of this connectedness.
Tagging Things: RFIDs provide real-time item traceability and addressability.
Feeling Things: Sensors are the most common devices used to gather data from the environment.
Shrinking Things: The ability of tiny things to interact and connect within "things" or "smart devices" has been prompted by Miniaturization and Nanotechnology.
Thinking Things: The network connection to the Internet is built through Embedded Intelligence in devices via sensors. It has the ability to make "things" realize intelligent control.
